Ga Power Scam

Scam received on Friday 10/3.  Got a phone call from a lady claiming she was from GA Power and that our power was going to be cut off, because of non payment.  I knew I had mailed the payment but when I asked her about it she said payment was never received and if I did not pay today with a credit card power was going to be turned off, that day. (As anyone would I got nervous, I did not nor could not afford to have power turned off).  I started to question her why I never got a notice about it and she said one was mailed out, never the less I never got it. I asked her to hold a minute.  So, in talking with her I got out my statement and it was on my statement that payment had been received and I check our bank account on line and saw the check had cleared the bank.  When I got back on the phone with her and told the lady what I discovered she hung up on me.  Need less to say I think I'm very cautious, but I almost gave her a credit card, for fear of the power being shut off. 

I wanted to let you know about this so maybe you could share it with others, that they maybe aware if anyone else would happen to get the same phone call.
